Welcome to the First Congregational Church in Chelsea! We are a growing community deeply rooted in faith in Jesus Christ and with an open spirit to any who walk through our doors! We have a renewed sense of mission to each other, our city, and our world. We hope you will find this a caring and Spirit-filled community.
We are part of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ, where social justice and deep faith go hand in hand. We gather to worship God and Jesus Christ, sing, and pray deeply for one another, our community and our world. As we say in the UCC, no matter who you are or where you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome here! We welcome you in any state that you come regardless of ability, sexual or gender identity, color or national origin. We mostly speak English but have some Spanish speakers among us to assist if needed. Todos Serán Bienvenidos!
For worship, dress can be informal. You may expect a warm welcome to our space, a community time of sharing and prayer, a spoken and at times conversational scripture -based sermon and a time of fellowship with the usual baked treats following the service. We have space to accommodate wheelchairs and a ramp to access the building. We have a Sunday school teacher who is a community health nurse, and children may come and attend a short lesson during worship as parents or guardians allow.
